It seems like fall has quickly left and this clean blanket of white has replaced the colorful leaves. We have been working on getting all of our Ice Fishing Gear out and ready. Saying that there is snow excites me a bit, however, we need some better ice conditions and snow conditions for the season to begin. This last week we were able to spend a little time in the back woods, watching moose which is one of the things that we love to do and were blessed with being able to
We are seeing quite a few moose, not because the population is growing, but because we spend a lot of time out there looking for them. Today's tour we saw 5 moose. Now that does not always happen, but we generally see more than one. When speaking to our clients on the phone they think 5 hours is a little long, however, at the end of their tour, most think it wasn't near long enough. Our tours - are your tour. They are your private tour through the Greater Moosehead Lak
One of the greatest moments, is when you are standing looking at a pond and you are so enthralled in its beauty and all of the surroundings, birds chirping, bugs skirting the waters edge, a few may flies landing, your whole day prior seems to have just disappeared and you are in the here and now. Kind of in a momentary fairy tale scene, and all of a sudden you are pulled out of your daze, by the sound of water movement to look up and see, something as majestic as the moose.
The start of our busy season is here. So Amber and I decided that we would spend one more day to ourselves trucking around in the woods. We left the house at about 6am and didn't get home until right after dark. To even begin to explain what an exceptional day that we had, well there just is no words. It was pretty warm yesterday, and well we thought maybe we might find some moose on the ponds. We saw everything but moose and we did the best to catch it on video. On ou
Sometimes there is no way to even describe the beauty in the Moosehead Area, pictures do not always do it justice as well. However, you look at it though, this area is truly beautiful and there are moose to be found. Just wanted to share from a couple outings this week. #moose, #mooseheadareaguideservice, #greenvillemaine, #outdoors, #beauty, #wildlifetours
I have been thinking lately, what makes Moosehead Area Guide Service any different from the other guide services. Well, I cannot speak for the other guide services in how they do their business, what they offer, or even how passionate they are about what they do. I can only speak for myself. I love Maine, I'm a true outdoors man in every sense. I spend all of my time either on the open water, the ice, or back in the woods seeking out adventures. My life pretty much re
This is recouping our last 26 hours. Well yesterday being Mother's Day it was only fitting to take Amber out for an evening ride. I have to say what started out as a slow evening became amazing rather quickly. We were seeing lots of traces of Moose and Amber said: "7:10 Moose Prime Time" best be watching now.... I chuckled,,,,,,, We were fortunate enough to see 8 moose in a two hour trip, 3 porcupines, bunnies, partridge and 5 deer. The first two porcupines climbed t
The last two weeks have been amazing in more ways than I count. With many thanks to my parents, Harold and Patty King for spending two weeks with us. They came out from Michigan and have been working side by side with us from morning till night on our renovations. Just a few little touches left and we will have it ready for rent in a week or so! The last few nights of my parents visit we had the opportunity to ride the back roads in search for some animals. We were so ver
