Cancellation Policy

Booking & Guest Policies At Moosehead Area Guide Service, our goal is to provide every guest with a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience. Please review the following policies before booking. Reservations & Payment A deposit is required to reserve your private tour or fishing charter. Your booking is not confirmed until the deposit has been successfully processed. The remaining balance is due on the day of your trip. Cancellations Cancellations made 4 or more days before your trip will receive a full deposit refund minus the $5 transaction fee assessed to Moosehead Area Guide Service. Cancellations made within 4 days may forfeit the deposit. No-shows forfeit the deposit. Weather Tours and charters operate in most weather conditions, including light rain. If severe weather or unsafe conditions require us to cancel, you may reschedule (subject to availability) or receive a full deposit refund. Weather-related cancellations are determined solely by Moosehead Area Guide Service. Wildlife & Fishing Wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed, as all animals are wild and free. We never bait or disturb wildlife to create encounters. For safety and wildlife protection, guests must remain in the vehicle during moose tours unless instructed otherwise. Fishing conditions vary daily due to weather and seasonal patterns. Our No Fish, No Fee Guarantee applies to fishing charters. If no fish are caught, we will waive the remaining trip balance. Your deposit remains non-refundable. Guest Responsibilities Guests are responsible for arriving on time, dressing appropriately for Maine weather, bringing any required medications, and following all guide instructions. A valid Maine fishing license is required for all anglers. Children under 16 are covered by the guide's license. Children 12 and under must wear life jackets at all times. Children & Pets Children are welcome on private trips when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Fishing charters are recommended for ages 6 and older. Pets are not permitted on tours or charters for safety reasons. Liability Outdoor recreation involves inherent risks, including changing weather, wildlife encounters, boating, and uneven terrain. By participating, guests acknowledge these risks and agree to follow all guide instructions. By booking with Moosehead Area Guide Service, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these policies.
